Rachel's Vineyard

Rachel's Vineyard RetreatWho should attend this retreat?
This retreat is open to any woman or man who is struggling with the emotional or spiritual pain of abortion. Women who have experienced abortion, their partners, grandparents and siblings of aborted children, as well as persons who have been involved in the abortion industry come to Rachel’s Vineyard in search of peace and inner healing. Couples are encouraged to attend together.

Why would I need to attend this retreat?
Abortion is often a carefully guarded secret, and many people fail to process their experiences. Feelings are usually buried away and can cause other problems.

What can I expect from this retreat?
A Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat is a chance to get away from all the daily pressure of work and family to focus on this painful time in your life through a supportive and non-judgmental process. This time provides an opportunity to deeply enter into the grieving process and identify all the ways abortion may have affected you. This pain and suffering is transformed through a spiritual process utilizing rituals, a memorial service and a Mass of Resurrection.

The weekend is very intense and emotional, but yields a fruitful harvest for all who have attended. The weekend is run by counselors and former retreat participants on a journey toward healing.

Do not be afraid I am with you.
I have called you by name
and you are mine.
When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you.
For I am the Lord your God
who saved you
because you are precious in my eyes
and because I love you.
— Isaiah 43

“For I know well the plans
I have in mind for you,”
says the Lord,
“plans for your welfare,
not for woe —
plans to give you a future full of hope.
